I signed up for snacks during Holy Week for my son's kindergarten class.  I am looking for lenten snack ideas for that week.  I've come up with crown of thorn cookies (sugar cookie rolled into a circle with little chinese noodles sticking out) and purple grapes on toothpicks to make a cross shape.  Any other ideas?

I found these ideas online last year.  For Holy Thursday, tortilla shells-represent unleavened bread, cut round pieces of ham and cheese--represent 30 pcs of silver, olives--Mount of Olives, fig newtons--Gethsemane Figs and Hershey Kisses--represent Judas' kiss.  For Good Friday, tortilla shells--represent Christs' seamless garment, diced cheese--represent the dice the soldiers gambled with, muffins with strawberry hidden in the middle--represents Christ laid in the tomb, honey peanut butter balls with pretzels sticking out-crown of thorns.

Hope you find something fun to use!!

My 9 year old son actually told me about Pretzels being a food for lent.  I found this link if you want to read more.  http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/religion/re0535.html
