Friends in Christ

I have two girlfriends at work, both from different faiths. However, we all have Christ in common, and share a great deal of opinions and such amongst us.

The Holy Spirit is working on us, that I know for sure! This morning, one of the girls (we'll call her E) who is due with baby #4 in July asked me and the other girl (R) a question I wasn't expecting. Here's how it went:

E: "Can I ask you two a personal question?"
R & Me: "Sure!"
E: "Would you ever get your tubes tied?"
Me: "No, and it's against my faith as well."
E: "See I know my husband and I may be finished adding to our family. And the women in my family have all done it. I just can't bring myself to do it. There's something inside me that says it's just not right. I don't think it's right to cut my body like that. I don't think God meant for that to happen to my body."
R: "I know what you mean. To me, it's like you're cutting out God's will for you. He made that temple for you and you can't destroy it."
Me: "I totally agree with both of you!"

This whole conversation gave me a chill, which I know had to be the Holy Spirit! I just kept thinking how RARE it is for any woman, especially a NON-CATHOLIC woman to say anything like that! It amazes me how Catholic their thinking is! What an awesome thing to start out my day!

Please pray for these women and their families. Maybe God has appointed me their path to the Faith, or maybe He has just blessed me with some amazing friends. Heck, maybe BOTH! I don't know what this means, but I pray that I can soon fully realize what's taking place here. Thanks for listening.

It always amazes me how the bad websites pick up on the names of the good ones and make minor changes to confuse people.

You know, my kids have been involved in a national Christian speech and debate league for homeschoolers the last 3 years, and we are one of only a few Catholic families involved. The amazing thing is that the whole league is full of very large families with airport vans parked outside.

My daughter gave a speech this year entitled "The Pill Kills" and was met with great welcome. One of the founding families, the Roses, just converted to the Catholic Church this year, and their son won a tournament with a speech against contraception. (You may have heard of Lila Rose from liveaction.com where she exposes Planned Parenthood with hidden camera interviews.) It seems that evangelical Christians have caught on and this may be a catalyst to more coversions as they wonder how the Catholics knew this all along.
