The homeschooling group in Beijing is all expats. In Shenzhen I met one homeschooling family that was Chinese (and I think they used Sonlight!), and a few other expat, but they weren't as plentiful or organized as BJ. Interestingly, the ones we…
I had heard that living in China can be sort of cushy...with help, and big houses, etc. Even here in the UK we are better able to hire some extra help than we would be in the US. I am curious about the homeschool group you mentioned. Is it an expat…

I had heard that living in China can be sort of cushy...with help, and big houses, etc. Even here in the UK we are better able to hire some extra help than we would be in the US. I am curious about the homeschool group you mentioned. Is it an expat group? Or is it mostly local families? Also, how hard is it to find a Catholic Church. This is one of our only constraints that we have given to my husband's company. If we can't get to Mass fairly easily each week, we won't go.
We are expats in Aberdeen, Scotland and I have been following your blog for awhile. I have been thinking of contacting you because my husband says China is a possible future assignment for us. He works for Chevron oil, but I can't remember the name of the region where Chevron's office is located. What sort of living situation do you have? How long have you been there, hope to be there? Do you recommend it as an expat location?
