Domestic Church: Room by Room - Sacramentals (Books GIVEAWAY)

This month, we are having active discussions on creating a Domestic Church in our homes. In my quest for new ideas in our home, I virtually met up at Faith and Family Connect, with Catholic author, Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle. She has written several books on this topic and we spoke about my desire to spread the news of her wonderful book entitled, The Domestic Church: Room by Room. At the end of August, we will raffle off two of her books to two different Catholic Mamas.

Hi Erika!

Thanks for the invite, but I am not a homeschooler any more. I dabbled a few years ago and loved it but felt it wasn't for me. The best thing to come from it, for me, was that now I'm not afraid to go back to it if I should ever feel it necessary for our family. My husband, as well, is more open to it now than he was before that time. Thanks again!

Blessings,
Lynn

Okay... managed to sign in and remembered my password! Whew! It was GREAT meeting you all yesterday. I had seen you while you were pregnant with Dominic and were visiting our Parish and had wanted to chat with you then - but got distracted with something and then you were gone! I was determined not to miss out this time. I LOVE our Parish but miss having other large families to hang out with. We have a couple of other families with 5 and 6 kids but until recently we have not had a lot of opportunities to get together. Part of the problem has been health issues in our family. However, we have become very close to one family of four that matches 4 of our kids in our family almost exactly in ages so that has been wonderful and a real God send for both me and our kids. While not all of them found a playmate close in age in this family we have ALL been made to feel very welcome by their family.
Still we wanted more opportunities to socialize with other Catholic families and while discussing this together last month, Hugo and I started reminiscing about the cenacles we used to participate in back in Canada. So we decided to open our home to families joining us to pray the Rosary every 2nd and 4th Sunday after our 10:30 Mass. Schedule is: Mass, come home - pray the Rosary all together then have lunch and socialize!!! Looking forward to this growing! Hope you can come to some all of them!

Thanks again for coming over to dinner - it was a blast! Our kids really enjoyed themselves as well!!!
God Bless
Christi

Hi Erika,

My kids are similar in age to yours. My oldest is Anna, almost 7, Nicolas, 5, Joseph, almost 3 and Cecilia, 1. They are definitely a handful but I wouldn't change it for anything. It is so wonderful to see how the Lord has created us in such a unique way. When people out in public say "you have your hands full", I always say "yes I do and they are full of love".
God Bless your journey this homeschooling year.

erika,
I do understand what you mean re FB. I have had a person who constantly checks my ''friends'', and then makes them his friends and I just can't be myself, thats why this site is so good. it hasn't been too broadcasted, so its nice and person, not too big. Its got a nicefeel about it.

Hey Erika, great to hear from you. I'm super busy during August - working on final edits for my book and pre-publicity stuff, plus all the activity with getting the boys ready for school. I don't know how our summer slipped by so quickly! Hope you're having a terrific August!
