Faith and Family Connect

The Community for Catholic Moms

We're up to 25 members and I would love to start a quick thread where we can share what it is we do as our job from home.  This way it can serve as a quick reference for anyone looking to help or support a fellow "WAHM'er."

Thanks, ladies.

What do you do?
Jennifer, I am a freelance writer. I have written for Faith and Family and the National Catholic Register. This week I have a movie review in US Catholic.
I am working on a book to be published this fall by WestBow Press. entitled "A Special Mother is Born".
I blog at Cause of Our Joy, Causa Nostrae Laetitiae and Catholic Media Review
I am an attorney. I never thought about it as being a flexible SAH-type career, but with moving overseas (my husband is active duty military) and a 2 1/2 year old and number 2 due in 5 weeks - it has worked out wonderfully! I work mainly for one non-profit group but am free to take what I want, when I want AND I keep my license current! Sometimes technology really is a wonderful thing!
Hi there, I have only been a work at home mom for 1 year now. I started a home daycare, but I love to write and ideally would like to earn an income writing.
For now I blog at: http://livingwater-rcmom.blogspot.com/
Leticia, I'd appreciate your feedback and advice. How did you get started?
I am just getting ready to restart my Melaleuca business! It's an International Wellness Company that manufactures and distributes it's own wellness products. I'm pregnant with my fourth child and just can't see trying to re-enter the workforce! So I'm very excited to be here with all of you!
Hi until the end of last year I owned and operated my own corporate catering company. One of the things that inspired the beginning of that company was the fact that for years I had been helping youth groups & churches raise money for mission trips, building funds, etc. After ten years of corporate catering and 20+ years of the fund raising for churches, I decided to follow my passions to help moms who want to stay at home and generate money be able to do that.

I have been on a long journey and sought out great counsel from a group of coaches. They have helped me combine my business knowledge, being a stay at home/work at home mom, the desire to help others, and my baking skills develop a business model for stay at home mom/dads who want to generate between $500-$1000 per month.

This business truly lets people determine their own schedule. I will train them to do what I do, provide the marketing materials, the branding, specific sales training, help them with information on how to set up and run a business, and more. If you know of a stay at home mom who might be interested in working with me, please refer them to my website, http://www.doughraisingmom.com. Thanks so much.
I love that we bring so many different professions to the group! It's wonderful getting to know each of you and what you do a little more. Keep the introductions coming!
Hello. I just joined Faith & Family Connect about 10 minutes ago ... and this group about 2 minutes ago!

I work as an editor and writer for a digital publishing/online media company. I manage publishing projects (e.g., scheduling, cover images, store descriptions, etc.) and also edit everything in the company store. I also am one of the bloggers for the company's website. It's a fast-paced, high-pressure, detail-oriented job, but I love what I do ... and best of all, it is from home.

Nice to meet you all!

Oh, in my downtime, I craft and draw as my art therapy. ; ) You can read more here at my blog: http://paperdali.blogspot.com/2009/09/about-paper-dali.html
HI, I just joined last week so wanted to reply to this. I am a division Manager for Lighthouse Catholic Media (Louisiana and Mississippi). We are a company that places our Cds by the best Catholic speakers of our time into parishes. We are now in over 3,000 parishes and growing. We also offer a Cd of the Month club which is the first ever Catholic Cd Club where titles are mailed to you each month for only $5.00. It is awesome to work with like-minded Catholics from all over the country. Check us out at www.lighthousecatholicmedia.org. You can sign up for the Cd of the Month Club there. Please use promo code 1152. We are always looking for people to work with us. We have many stay-at-home moms.

I also work for a Network Marketing company called Agel Enterprises. It is a 5 year old company and is now in over 60 countries! Agel is a wellness company that offers the first ever gel-based nutritional supplements. It will be the way people take supplements in the future. It is great for kids, elderly and people like me who can't swallow all those pills. They taste GREAT. I am always looking for team members and people who want to try them out. You can check them out at www.vbritt1@iamagel.com. Yes it is Network Marketing/MLM and I have learned that it has the potential to be a great stream of income.
Check out Paul Zane Pilzer. He is an Economist/Entrepeneur/Professor and talks about the perfect storm of opportunity - wellness and network marketing. www.paulzanepilzer.com.
Welcome to the group, Valerie! It's a pleasure to have you join us. My church has CD in our gathering space and I wonder if they are something like what you offer? Thanks again for joining our group and please feel free to contribute anytime you would like!
Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the welcome. Are your CDs in a tall stand? If you check out the website you can see what ours look like. I would think it is possibly the same. What diocese do you live in
and what is your parish? I could tell from going on our website if it is the same. I might even know the account manager for your parish. God bless.
I am the owner of SavvyAssist, an administrative consulting firm that partners with small business owners and service professionals who make their living by billable hours. It is our mission to facilitate increased revenues by allowing the professional to focus on income-generating activities instead of administrative tasks. I started the company in 2008...

I have more than 15 years of experience in small business operations, and have had the good fortune to work with some amazing entrepreneurs and big thinkers. That experience in all aspects of small business success helps make SavvyAssist a great partner for those business owners that are truly amazing at what they do, but tend to let the administrative "stuff" pile up. I love what I do, and enjoy the challenge of keeping up with such bright minds while still honoring the developing bright minds and hearts I have right here at home!
