I never heard of the Rosary Workout e-book. It sounds interesting and I would like to get more info. on it myself. All of my children are grown now. I use to love to read stories to my children. I enjoyed them as much as they did, especially the picture book. I have a few picture books in the works myself. Occasionally I get to read to my grandchildren, but not very often.

Has anyone read the Rosary Workout e-book? I'm thinking of getting it, but wanted some input, if anyone has any, I'd love to hear it...

Also, is anyone doing any special reading for Lent? I want to work on embracing my vocation better so I was thinking either The handbook for Catholic moms or The Domestic Church Room by Room. Suggestions?

THanks! Jamie

We enjoy reading plays together as a family.

We have five ranging from 17 to 7. We started A Christmas Carrol before Christmas and haven't finished it yet. (We still have until Feb. 3rd for the end of the Christmas season according to the Traditional calendar, right? :) )

Anyway, it's great fun because everyone takes a part, even Dad. We did this with Hamlet too.

In Christ,
Lucy

I am a big believer in read aloud time - even when they are more than competent readers. it allows for cuddle time, for the possibility of introducing different genres, that they would otherwise avoid, and for discussing values and sub-texts. when mine were little, I would let them draw the characters we were reading or lie on the couch or even drift to sleep. we tried to do it after lunch and make it different from the bed-time reading that was daddy's domain. all of my kids are now obsessive readers. Last night we had a 40 minute discussion on the failures of the Harry Potter Movies to capture the ideas of self-sacrificing love, the need to share power and responsibility and dealing with anger! Mind blowing!

could we start a "reading aloud to kids" discussion?
