Seven Tips from SCRIPTURE...

The Bible has clear counsel on how to have and maintain a happy marriage. Here are Seven Tips from Scripture:
1. Put God first in your home.
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” Psalm 127:1 “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:6
2. Hold each other in high esteem.
“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8 “Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other.” Romans 12: 10 (New Living Translation)
3. Never take your anger to bed.
“Let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4: 26, 27 “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
4. Pray together.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.” James 5:16
5. Guard against intruders.
“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Exodus 20:14 “Anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:28 (New Living Translation) There are countless ways to have an affair. Physical and emotional intimacy between a husband and wife must be strictly guarded against all intruders.
6. Look for the positive.
“It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.” Proverbs 21:19 “And you husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly.” Colossians 3:19 (New Living Translation
7. Speak softly.
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” Proverbs 15:1

I have a prayer request:
I have been praying fervently that my husband has a conversion of heart and soul. I am Catholic and he is Methodist by baptism only. He practices no faith (outright at least) yet he lives his life with high moral expectations. I would love him to join me & our daughters at Sunday Mass and to become a full Catholic. I know that prayer is the way to make this happen & I look toward the examples of St. Monica and Fr. Corapi's mother and family as to the power of prayer and coversion.
Please add your prayers to help me in this endeavor. Thank you!

Please pray for our family. My husband was temporarily laid off yesterday (so we'll only be paid for his work up to yesterday and we'll still have benefits - if he opts to leave we get pay for three weeks and lose benefits and he also won't qualify for EI - which isn't much anyway) - they may take him back September 30 if the film business picks up. It's very frightening. I'm trying to have faith but I'm so scared.

Patty,
We will keep your husband and family in our prayers. What an amazing man your husband must be to have been trying to continue to work full time with terminal cancer.

Thank you for allowing me to join this group. I want to pray for others in need, so that the Lord hears all of our voices.

Tonight, I need to ask for prayer, too. My husband of 23 years has terminal cancer. He is considering going on full disability because it's just so hard for him to work full-time. Please pray that God will give him strength to make the best decision for himself and for our family.

It's so hard to see my husband in pain and unhappy. His faith hasn't faltered, it's been tested though.

Thank you all.

Adding Coleen and her husband to my prayer list.
Karen,
I would be glad to keep you in my prayers .As I have shared before, I have been there myself and understand how hard these aniversaries can be.

Mark,
I will add you to my prayer list. May God keep you safe and guide the doctors to the right treatment.

Please remember me in your prayers; I am scheduled for a cardiac catheterization next week due to poor blood flow in my heart. A bit worried but know I am in God's hands.
