Our group has seen some great comments this week, which prompted me to start a discussion to stimulate some conversation.  It seems that the weather and post-holiday "blah" feelings have definitely impacted upon my motivation to get outside and exercise.  Are you having the same problem?

I had the best of intentions to start the new year, but have to say that all of the busy-ness of my life has kept me from moving as much as I'd like to the past few weeks.  And I'm not even snowed in!

How are you doing with this?  Do you have any suggestions for keeping fit when it is cold, snowy or rainy outside?  Any motivational tips to share?  Chime in here and let's get moving!

I have definitely fallen off the wagon, but I find that if I can do something that doesn't take a long time, I can commit to it (30 minute workouts don't happen when you home school 8 kids ages 10 down to 1 year old). I have a set of "8-minute workout" DVDs that are ideal for me. I take them at my own pace and do just 8 minutes a day. If I stick with it, I gain strength and lose weight, even if I do nothing else (like modify my diet). However, drinking more water and cutting out all sugar makes it happen a LOT faster!

My brother-in-law is getting married in April and I have vowed that I will wear a certain pink dress I have been saving for a time when I am not pregnant LOL! I have almost exactly 3 months to get healthy and fit, and I CAN DO IT if you all will pray for me to resist the brownies that are on the counter right now calling to me (my son's birthday dessert). ;O)
Paula - I'll have to check out that DVD - I think I can fit in 8 minutes at a time! Make sure that you take a picture of yourself in that dress - I want to see it!
