I refer to our journey to our son as my 4 year labor, one day pregnancy. That's because we had many false starts and dissapointments along the way. We changed course more than once and only heard about our son one day before we became his parents. My advice would be to remain open to the promptings of the Spirit and don't consider course changes or disappointments as failure. Think of them as detours needed to eventually arrive at the destination of the child that God has been holding for you.

I've struggled with infertility and loss for many years. I've had 3 miscarriages and look forward to meeting my 4 children in heaven. At 39 I was laid off from my job with a major oil company and received a nice severance. I was offered a position in another town, but if I accepted it, I would not get the severance. Something told me not to accept the position. I got a new job in a month and was able to save all of the severace money.

A couple of months later I met a woman who had adopted two sweet little boys from Guatemala. I started researching and called a social worker to start our homestudy. The process was difficult, but well worth it. We brought our son home at 9 months old. He is our son, the child that God intended for us. We are so grateful for the faithfulness God has placed in our hearts.

Fast forward a couple of years later (now). I suscribed to Rainbowkids.com which is a website that has profiles of special needs children from all over the world available for adoption. I was looking at their site one day and the beautiful almond shaped eyes of a little boy spoke to my heart. How could that be? We don't have the resources to complete another adoption, I thought. In my daily meditation the words "TRUST ME" keep going through my heart. I inquired and found out he was available (I was shocked because he was less than a year old). I brought the information home to my husband and we prayed together about it. We are in the process of adopting him and miraculously we've had the funds to continue the process. Our homestudy is done, our INS approval is on it's way and we've paid much of the agency fee.

That's our story..we hope to travel to pick up Christian early next year. Jacob is very excited about his little brother. If you are considering adoption and I can offer you any support, please contact me. I will be happy to answer any question you have!
