Morning Light Ministry is a Catholic ministry for bereaved mothers and bereaved fathers who have experienced the death of their baby through ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death up to one year old. This Catholic ministry also welcomes bereaved parents of other Christian denominations, bereaved parents of other faiths and bereaved parents of no religious affiliation who are struggling with the very notion of faith. Morning Light Ministry has received Apostolic Blessings from His Holiness Pope John Paul II in January, 2000 and November, 2003.

I am not sure how to get through the loss of a child either. All I can tell you from my experience is to be open and honest with God on how you feel. I have learned that it is okay to cry and not to try to be the strong one all the time. Hope this helps, but in the meantime, I will pray for you and your family.

Please pray for my George Patrick Andrew, who died (likely due to cord compression) during my labour on May 19, 2009. Marking is one year angel day is very hard.

Check out this inspired idea by a blogging bereaved mum in the US - she asked if we'd like to do a series of giveaways for other bereaved mothers to share some cheer this holiday season. I was day three and it just occurred to me I should post this here. Any bereaved mothers are invited to leave comments and possibly win a daily giveaway - one a day for 25 days....

Another link while I've got a few minutes online: A babylost mother in Tennessee carried her baby boy to term knowing that he had a fatal condition and would not live long in this world. In fact, she was told he wouldn't survive birth. She and her husband prayed for a miracle and he did survive birth. Wyatt breathed for a few minutes and looked at his loving mother, Danielle, and his Daddy. Then he passed. But the medical powers that be in her state have deemed Wyatt's short life as "not alive enough." He has been denied a birth certificate. I blogged about Danielle yesterday and invite you to read more and link through to her blog. If you agree that alive is alive (I feel this is a pro-life issue, truly), then sign her petition. She has hope that her state will change the legislation and her baby boy's birth will be acknowledged as a live birth as it should be.

Take a few minutes to watch this video about stillbirth that was produced in Australia. I found it to be very moving because it's so obviously produced by people who've been through the agony of stillbirth. It is titled, "The Reality of Stillbirth."

Today, October 15th, is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Tonight parents of babies who have died are invited to light candles at seven o’clock to send a wave of light across the world in memory of our little angels. An Australian babylost mother whose blog I follow posted a very poignant video about stillbirth. I will post a link.
