The Community for Catholic Moms

Hi ladies,

We are having a pretty good discussion in our Healthy Moms group about the pill. Every second Saturday of the month our local Pro-Life Committees in our Churches are going to be praying outside a local Planned Parenthood site. I love the praying aspect, but I feel like I need to bring something more to the table, literally. Does anyone know of a good brochure I could order that gives good info on the effects of The Pill?? And also alternatives to it? Do you know of any good brochures that teach about NFP perhaps?? Anything else you could suggest that I get to hand out to the girls/moms that approach us for more info. I just want to give them some alternatives to Planned Parenthood. Oh, I suppose I should research some local adoption agencies to get info to them about that too....

Any other advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I knew if I wanted info on this that this would be the site to do it.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Off the top of my head a couple things you could try:

See if your local catholic diocese has a respect life office and ask them what resources they have available. They may have a lot of the legwork done for you.

We have had some great brochures from the one more soul organization. You can check them out here:

As far as adoption and street counseling you should talk to one of the local crisis pregnancy centers about any info they might have that would be of help to you.

God Bless!
Thanks Kristin!! I have seen the One More Soul site before! I will also check with my pastor (I suppose he would be a good resource huh...) about what our diocese might already have available for us.
I'm not sure if your diocese would have the same title for the office as we do. But in Fargo, ND diocese it's called the Respect Life office. It handles all of the NFP information as well as any abortion/contraception/life related issues. As NFP teachers we have been given lots of great brochures by them and I would assume any Respect Life type office should have the same info.
That's great stuff Kristin. Thanks again!
