We almost always have bottled water, dried fruit, goldfish crackers, and powerbars in the car. Also, we recently bought a sippy cup spout that attached to bottled water. (it sort of makes bottled water into a sports water bottle) It's great for the little ones who can't drink out of the bottle without spilling.
