My dd will be attending our homeschool co-op teen banquet/prom and a modest gown is required for the girls.  Does anyone know of a site online that sells stylish, yet modest long gowns for teens?  Our local dept. stores have nothing that would qualify...they must not be backless, cut out midfriffs, spagetti strapped, one shoulder or too low cut.. Any ideas are most welcome. Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas Jo! DD and I went shopping again last night and found a great dress, with a 3/4 length sleeve bolero to match that covers what needs to be! It looks so cute, and DD is very happy with it. ( it was on sale too!) There were lots of sweater shrugs and boleros shown at this store with the gowns, so maybe it's a new trend to be more modest! They had a nice variety in all sizes and styles. It looked so lovely on DD, and is so much more tasteful to leave some skin covered. She loved it! :)
I did pray to the Blessed Mother. :) I don't think it's strange at all to ask Her guidance on little matters like this with our daughters. She is OUR Mother in all things great and small. I love it that you mentioned the Holy Mother, Jo! I feel so close to the Holy Virgin in being a mother myself. So many times I have called on her aid. I found her gown at a small, local dept. store. Most of the dresses had been picked over, because our homeschool prom is in May, vs. April for the public schools. Fortunately, my dd is very petite and most of the dresses left were in the smaller size range. They had a large selection of sweater 'shrugs' and boleros, just what we needed for modesty. It was obvious they didn't sell many of those coverups.
