My husband accidentally let our dental insurance lapse, and my daughter is supposed to get a $1500 orthodontia appliance placed TODAY.
The insurance payment was due Tuesday, and I had been reminding him for 2 weeks to pay it. He had a brain injury in 2007, and he forgets things sometimes, but I just started a new job after being out of work for 5 months, and I'm too busy at the office to do anything during working hours, plus I have a long commute (1 hour each way) and then I do more work at home for my job after the kids are in bed. I am the sole bread winner.
My husband is capable of paying bills -- he just forgot this one. And it's really bad because insurance would have paid 100% of the appliance, which cost $1500. He hasn't worked since April (in school for retraining), and with my 5 months of unemployment, we don't have much savings.
Please, please pray that he can talk the insurance company into having pity on us and extending the grace period for two days so that we can pay it today. I'm sick to my stomach over this. My daughter has severe dental problems (she's only 8) and really needs this appliance to help her mouth grow into the right shape so that her jaws and teeth function properly.
