Are any other women here the only Catholic in their house?

Hi,
I've been a Catholic for almost 3 years now. My husband and I have both been Christians for over 25 years. My journey to the RCC began after seeing The Passion Of The Christ. It was a journey of almost three years and I finally received my first communion on my birthday, Christ the King Sunday in 2006. I love being Catholic and I pray all of my family will also be Catholic eventually! The Eucharist is so precious to me and I wish every Christian would know the full truth of the faith.

I go to Mass by myself and attend our family church with my husband and kids.

Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat! And if so, how is it working for you?

My husband is a convert to the faith, but to be honest he never had a church to go to so he would just go to Mass with me, so I've never really been in that boat. I don't think I could have tolerated going to both churches. Don't really have any more to say. Hopefully you'll get more responses, if not I believe Tuesday is Open Forum on the Faith and Family Blog. You could pose your question there as well. :) God Bless.
God will be with You in Your Love and Faithfulness to Him....
Blessings,jeffrey
Thank you SAHMinIL and Jeffrey Mark,
I appreciate your responses.

I know this is what God has called me to at this point in my life...most of my Catholic fellowship-ing is online at this point. That can be hard sometimes, but I was able to attend a wonderful women's conference in Boston this past April, it was such a great day. Jim Caviezel's wife Kerri was a speaker as well as a few other women who were all just awesome. I cried off and on all day I was so moved.

How does open forum work?
stay joyful the Passion Moviewas used mightly by God!!!!!
Thanks Jeffrey Mark,
I love that movie so much. I've watched it so many times....

My little boy is autistic and when he was younger he wouldn't kiss or hug me.
I let him watch the happy scene in The Passion of Jesus and Mary, where He was building the table....He kisses Mary on the cheek. When my Mario saw that he ran over to me and kissed me on my cheek! That meant so much to me.

He even used to copy Yeshua blowing away the sawdust on the wood. :-)
Well tomorrow there will be a post made on the blog section of Faith and Family. That blog post will be called "open forum". You'll be able to make a comment on the blog post and will most likely get a response, a reply comment, especially if you post your question in the morning.

It's the blogs coffee talk post. Today's was parenting, Tomorrow's is open forum, which means any topic is allowed on Tuesdays in the coffee talk post of the day, in the blog section.
Hi, Amylisa --

Hang in there! With God all things are possible. :)

I was in that boat for quite awhile. I was baptized when I was nearly 30, We'd been married for about six years and I had previously been an atheist. I spent five years in the Episcopal church, and my husband (agnostic) really only tagged along for awhile to make me happy. Then, I was received into the Catholic Church (five years after my baptism) and my husband had NO interest in being Catholic. :) Prayers, patience, plenty of novenas to St. Joseph, and trust ... five years after my reception, my husband came into the Catholic Church.

I realize it may be harder in situations where one person still has an attachment to another church -- that wasn't the case with my husband. But, just keep trusting and praying -- God can bring good out of all things. And, yes, those online connections can be lifelines.

God bless you and your family!

Karen
Thank you for your encouragement Karen! I love St. Joseph too....and my husband is a carpenter so I should REALLY start praying to St. Joseph to ask his help!

One thing happened today that was really cool....I had to take my teenage son to a meeting. He and I were both kind of nervous about some things. I was praying and asking God for His favor, asking Mary to help us. And then one office we were led into was the office of a woman named Maria Joseph. There was something hanging on the wall there with this name in large letters.
I just had to smile to myself. I entrust my family to The Holy Family all the time.
I wasn't Catholic when my kids were born, but of my six, 2 of them are boys. One is Joseph and the other is Mario. So now I think of them as being named after Joseph and Mary. Joe was actually named after Joseph from the Old Testament too, so I figure he's doubly named. :-)

Thanks again for replying! I appreciate it! God bless you and your family too.

Oooh, that's a shiver story! That's great. :)
Blessings and prayers,
Karen
I'm brand new to this site but I can understand. While my husband is cradle Catholic and we attend Mass together, I am the ONLY Catholic on either side of my family. Sometimes it's very lonely because I want to be able to share the faith with my family but can't. My family on both sides is devoutly Christian and spread out amongst the non-denom, Baptist, Methodist, and Nazarene branches. I, like you, am in love with the Eucharistic Lord! I am always praying for the conversion of my family!
Thank you Rachel. May God answer all of our prayers! I am sure He is already at work!
Glory to Jesus Christ!

To Rachel & Amylisa,
St. Monica (mother of St. Augustine) is a powerful intercessor in praying for those who are away from the Faith. May you both continue to grow in your love for our Eucharistic Lord & in imitation of His Blessed Mother Mary, the Theotokos. My husband was Confirmed into the Catholic Faith on Easter 2001. He came from a nominal Methodist background & considered himself agnostic. I jokingly referred to him as a "virtuous pagan." I think he agreed. ;o) He credits his conversion to the prayers of my family & the example of our children as they grew in & learned about our Catholic Faith. You are both in my prayers. Although a bit belated...welcome home to the fullness of the apostolic Faith!!
