I'm looking for resources to start learning how to make lace... Anyone have any tips/websites/class ideas?

Thanks, and have a fabulous Sunday!

If you just type in "how to make lace" on the google search engine there are a TON of legitimately informative websites that pull up. Here are just a couple:

http://lace.lacefairy.com/Lace/BeginGuide.html

http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/lace/index.htm

http://www.craftsitedirectory.com/lacemaking/index.html

Then depending on what method you want to use I'm sure you could make your search much more specific.

I also found this:

Bobbin Along Lacemakers
Jessie Jaramillo
1803 Cherry Street
Panama City, Florida 32401
USA
Phone: 850-763-8225
Email: jessiej@bellsouth.net

Although I'm not sure if it's current as the webpage they had linked was not longer in service. And they're like 6 hours away from your location I think...

There's also this response that pulled up from someone looking for lacemaking in orlando. At least that should be a bit closer for you. The posting was from March of this year so at least that's relatively current. I found the below response at this site: http://efsacco.wordpress.com/2007/07/07/la-tejedora-moca-pr/

Quoted from the above linked site

Hola Nancy,
There are lacemakers in Florida. Two years ago there was a Festival of Mundillo near Orlando, not sure if it took place again.
A good person to contact is
Darlene Rodriguez or Jeorge Garcia
through Mundillo in Orlando. Please tell them I sent you!

Thanks for visiting my site!

Good luck to you Erin! Sorry I don't have any first hand knowledge to share with you. But I like doing quick internet searches so thought maybe I could help you out that way. Take care! Happy Lacemaking!
