I second the idea of asking your mom to help you!  My mom helped me almost until her last illness and death.  She was such an asset to our homeschool and my kids have so many wonderful memories of her.   That said, you know YOU…

An Unfortunate Incident

Rebecca Teti: and now for something completely different | Thanks for your prayers for all of us testifying before the Maryland House of Delegates in defense of marriage yesterday. It went fine, but it was an all-day ordeal, and I’m still too drained to write about it. Politics ain’t beanbag, as they say. How about something funny instead? Like my friend …

A new closet for $7.99

DariaSockey: | Since our marriage in 1980, Bill and I have lived in 8 different homes. Only once did we have the luxury of a walk-in closet. Because both our budgets and our architectural whims run to vintage farmhouses, we’ve often had to share some very small closets. That’s the case in our current home as well, where our garments have …

"Being Catholic means 'paying a price'"

Arwen Mosher: a bishop speaks truth | “What we bring is not an onerous burden – we bring a liberation. And people may not know they do want this good news from Jesus but it really is what they’re looking for.” That’s a quote from Archbishop Allen Vigneron of Detroit, interviewed during a recent visit to the Vatican. I’m proud that …

Being Still

Psalms 46:10 is the verse I live by and every other aspect of the Bible can be approached from this one little verse.

Have compassion, not indignation

Maybe its having a 3rd child that is incredibly cute.  I don't know.  Lately, I've had more women open up to me that they would like another child/more children but that their spouse does not want any.

This goes for Catholic and non-Catholic women, alike.  And the majority of them do not have husbands 'unselfishly' getting a vasectomy.  Oh no, they are the ones on some sort of pill or implant.  They are the ones dealing with the side effects.  Some have been told they should…

Breathe.......

It's funny how a voluntary action such as breathing can become a focus for me but it's true....breathe Tonya, breathe...is a constant these days. With the overwhelming ever present thoughts of another deployment (1 year later from returning from deployment) and homeschooling, 4 kids and being in a big city (to which I haven't yet found my comfy place) I am at that place.......God are you with me? God can I do this, again? God I beg for your peace and strength to do this and keep my head…
